Your donation is deductible.
IDM gGmbH is a recognized non-profit. You can claim donations on your German tax return.
Compliance with the statutory requirements under Sections 51, 59, 60 and 61 of the German Fiscal Code (AO) was separately determined by the Hamburg-Nord tax office, tax number 17/432/00418, by notice dated 1 September 2025 under Section 60a AO. Under our articles of association, we promote public health and public health care as well as science and research.
Up to €300, the tax office accepts your bank statement or payment confirmation as proof. You don't need a separate donation receipt.

If you have designated your donation for a specific purpose, the donation receipt confirms that it will be used only for that purpose within the purposes set out in our articles of association.

Frequently asked questions about our mission and donations
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. IDM is a non-profit. Up to €300, your proof of payment is enough for the tax office; above that, we issue a donation receipt.
Will I get a donation receipt?
Whenever you like, just email spenden@idmedizin.de. From €300 we issue one automatically, provided we have your address.
Where does my donation go?
Into our mission for better, fairer, and more sovereign care, for example fair access, sovereign infrastructure, and independent research. As a non-profit, we don't distribute profits.
Can I donate regularly?
Yes. Select “Monthly” above. You can cancel your donation yourself at any time.
Is online payment secure?
Yes. Online payments run through Stripe, a certified payment provider. IDM never stores card details.
Why is IDM a non-profit?
Because good care is a common good. IDM is a non-profit subsidiary of University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, with no venture capital. Surpluses are not distributed; they go back into our mission: care that is high-quality, safe, fair, and sovereign.
What does sovereign AI in healthcare mean?
That care providers stay in control of models, data, and contracts. IDM develops its own models, runs them on its own GPU infrastructure in Germany, and builds on open standards such as FHIR.
How does IDM engage with policy and society?
As part of our mission. We bring experience from everyday clinical work into the debate on rules for safe, sovereign, and fair AI, and we exchange views with policymakers, regulators, researchers, and civil society. Your contact for this is Philipp Mühl, muehl@idmedizin.de.
